you can turn your own computer into a server and host your own web site, etc. not an easy task to do unless you are already a master of building sites, html, etc.

easy way is to get on a site that sells web space, rent some space and put your site there. then just point your domain name to that web space. you are done....you now just hosted your own site.

yes u can do web hosting, but for that u must need a domain name that u want to host. and then a server where u can host ur site.... its a very easy task, there are so many small and companies around those are providing domain registration and web hosting for domains... i m too working in such a company like this and doing this task for my company ie domain reg and web hosting.
